Review/Give Away: Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce

Being a relatively new blogger you know I was super excited to be offered my first product to share with my readers.  And for it to be a great product that appeals to everyone was even more wonderful.
The label on the Original Country Bob’s  All Purpose Sauce  is colorful and informative.  The sauce is gluten free and has no products or byproducts that (I am fairly certain) vegetarians or vegans will object to.

Ingredients:  Tomato concentrate, (tomato paste and water), vinegar, corn syrup, sugar, molasses, salt, onion powder, caramel color, garlic powder, tamarind, corn starch, natural flavors, and other spices.

So even though many people think of this as a Barbequing or Meat Flavoring sauce,  Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce is a tasty addition to vegetarian meals as well.  There are many recipes available to you on the Country Bob’s website, including a variation on Chex Party Mix

However – I did use my sample bottle of Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce  on meat – pork to be specific.  Generally I prefer meat that is cooked on a grill, but in early March in Wisconsin,  if the temperatures are not a bit nippy,  the wind makes grilling outdoors a challenge.  I wanted to do this right.  So here is a picture to prove to you that I did indeed make the chops myself.

Two of the chops I had marinated in the sauce beforehand,  and two I lightly drizzled with sauce, just in case the flavor was too intense for me.  Tasting it straight from the bottle I found it to be sweet and tangy.

Well, I had nothing to be worried about. Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce added something special to the meat and I did dip the less treated portions into more sauce during the meal.

We ate our delicious meal too quickly for me to get an actual picture of presentation,
but imagine it to look something like this

except I made steak fries and frozen, bagged green beans.
But it was delicious and there were no leftovers.
There was one comment that next time we should try the Country Bob’s Spicy All Purpose  Sauce.
To find where Country Bob’s products (including  Seasoning Salt) are sold, visit the website.

As excited as I was to be able to try The Original Country Bob’s  All Purpose Sauce  myself,  I am even more enthusiastic about being able to offer to you a chance to have Country Bob’s sauce delivered directly to your door.  Al, from  Country Bob’s, has graciously offered 2 readers a 2 bottle sample.  Did I mention I was  impressed that the botttles came packed in recycled materials?

To win,  please visit Country Bob’s website, come back here and leave a comment with something you learned.

For an extra entry, leave a comment with the name of a recipe you’d like to try using a Country Bob’s product.

I will also give a chance if you let me know you have commented on any of my other posts.

And I will give you 2 entries if you tell me how you heard about this contest or how you found my blog.   (leave 2 comments, please)

OK- I said I was new at this. Suppose you want to know when the winners (yes two winners) will be chosen.  I will allow comments toward winning through April 3  and choose  winners on Sunday April 4,  to post soon after.

  4. Viewing Country Bob’s website has given me the “bug” of spring fever. The site has wonderful ideas that has my mouth watering. Thanks Country Bob’s for the idea of adding your sauce to homemade baked beans. Easter will arrive soon and a dash of sauce in the traditional Easter meal baked beans is going to add a nice “spark”

  14. I have never used this product…it reminds me of Kitchen Bouquet that my mother used when I was young..what I learned? I learned that I can use this product as I did the above mentioned. I also learned that it is actually healthy and contains many needed nutrients…I will be actually buying a bottle to try tomorrow…I will be making the Country Bob’s Meatballs & Sauce, I think the kids will enjoy this and it should be really good on rice…also if I am careful and use ground chuck and drain well it will work for my ww program…

  16. I learned two things:

    1. Steak, Chicken, Barbeque, Fries, Hamburger, Fish and so much more!

    2. I want that sauce!

Anyone named “Country Bob” must know a thing or two about sauce. I’d never buy sauce from a guy named “City Frederick”.
