Ice Cream Social Sundae

June is Dairy Month and Wisconsin is the Dairy State.
Some things are too good to be contained within one short period of time

and in uncharacteristic ninety degree heat and humidity
some things need to be creatively represented.

No need to strain to get here quickly – we serve ice cream all summer
and continue to make more

as well as butter and cheese.

I invite you all to come visit!

Please also visit Kitchen Bouquet
for an Ice Cream Social Weekend.

Because this is one of my Favorite Things
I am hooking up with Laurie.

All the ice cream is free at this event so it is So Very Thrifty  too.

  5. What an awesome post! I love it all. Is that a sundae made from flowers??? Genius! Fits my Kitchen Bouquet them to a tee. I might have to steal that idea next year lol. That ice cream churn is so neat. Thanks so much for joining in at my ice cream social. Still chuckling over that cheese…what a hoot.

  6. Fun post! I’m sure that it wasn’t amusing back in 2001, but that cancellation tickled my funny bone today.

    • Until I posted the picture I did not read through all the dates.
Can’t beat the honesty, but I wonder who decided upon the wording.

  7. Great post – to me that sundae looks like the real thing…is it?? All that lucious whipped cream!

    • It is made of carnations.
The real ice cream was being eaten as quickly as the Dairy Assn. could serve it up.

  12. We do have some great dairy products here, don’t we! It’s hard to bother making your own ice cream when you have so many wonderful local choices – my favorite in Milwaukee being Kopps custard. Love the flower sundae!

  13. I am originally from Madison WI and grew up there. When we would come to visit my parents we would always go to the UW Dairy for ice cream. Nothing better in the world. I am an ice cream girl through and through. You sure miss quality dairy when you move away. This post brought back such fond memories of home. Love the dairy state.

  18. MN is a lot like WI, we have dairy days in June with lots of recipes shared and the Princess Kay of Milky Way gets her bust carved in butter at the state fair in August 🙂

Fun post to see that our neighboring states are alike in lots of ways.
