  1. Although I do hate mosquitoes, I must say I’m pretty fascinated by these shots! My goodness, they really do fill themselves up almost to overflowing with our blood, don’t they? Yikes!
    Happy REDnesday!

  7. Watch out for West Nile Virus. Empty containers of water outside your house and treat standing water that breeds mosquitos. Also destroy habitate by chopping down or moving weedy areas.

  17. Around here, the mosquito population is soaring….tropics, lots of rain [and more predicted]…bring ’em out in full force.

Regarding Bing Crosby singing Don’t Fence Me In….I do recall this one recorded by him [and I think along with the Andrew Sisters; not sure]…but, I’m sure Roy Rogers recorded it too.

Hope you’re having a super Wednesday.

  21. Ugh. I hate mosquitoes. I used to live in northern BC and there were soooo many. I spent many a night sleeping under sheets to keep them away.

  23. Ackk! Heebee jeebees, woman! I know you have to have just as many of these monsters as I do… Yikers! nasty… hey, I just found if you take an aspirin & break it in half & put water on the bite & then wet the aspirin & scrub it into the bite/s they don’t swell up to baseball size or itch as bad either, let the aspirin dry on the bite. ( if you have problems like me)!! I will check out the links you sent later, thanks! Have a great week!

    Comment by Faythe — July 21, 2010 @ 2:53 PM

  24. EEeeeeeeekkkkk! I can’t stand those. They can pick me out in a crowd of hundreds of people and have their way with me. My husband can stand right next to me and never have one bite. (I think I’m sweeter than he is, lol)
