Remember the days of Books-on-Tape?
which morphed into MP3s
(fewer discs, less bulky) could load directly to your player.
Now our library has taken out the middle step.
When I picked it up I thought someone had made a mistake and sent me a VHS tape.
Opened it up to double check (the librarian did not know what it was either)
Patron (that’s the reader) is responsible for adding a battery…
once you figure out how to open it
and you need your own headphones.
I love the library but this idea –
I am not a fan.
Maybe it was because after several hours there was a skip and the words became garbled.
How does one scratch a self contained unit?
More importantly, how does one repair it? I assume it will be thrown away.
Needless to say, this was not a sponsored post.
