Thrifty Odds and Ends for Outside

Filed under: Thrifty Finds — Laura R @ 8:57 PM

Linking up to Yard Art Thursday  at Work of the Poet.

A few more trinkets from a church sale where I got the beautiful vintage dishes for a song
(or should I say hymn?)

Do you know what this is?  Nicer looking than the home made ones,

but will it be more effective?  We’ll see.

I also spotted this in a box.

 Care to guess?

I believe he and his friends were once seated upon a fountain.

We will find a nice spot for them, maybe along a pond or even at poolside.

I am sure I mentioned I am attracted to smiley Faces.  (driver marker)

A light for our patio table, once we build a patio.

And a random shot from the home of a friend.

Of course these are thrifted yard elements!  Some fun times.

    • She is very lenient – art is in the eye of the beholder.
Your post is definitely yard art – and educational.

I had some actual “art” to post, but then continued with my thrifted objects theme instead.

  2. I didn’t even know they had yellow jacket traps. Good to know how to make one too.
The vignette set up in your neighbor’s yard is so quaint. There’s even a rug – I love it!

  3. Some neat items, I have tried those wasp traps and never had much luck with them here. Those darn things were building a nest under the eave of our front door!

  5. Love the frogs on their back! I’m attracted to frogs and not to yellow jackets! 🙂

  6. Oh I am so not fond of yellow jackets! Mean little critters! Love those rockers surrounded by old touches…

I use Raid for yellow jackets…much quicker than waiting for them to take the bait! LOL 🙂

  9. I haven’t tried one of the store bought bee catchers but it DOES look more attractive, doesn’t it. =)

Blessings… Polly (p.s. I’m so glad you’ll be joining us for the Paperie Party!)

  10. I love finding thrift treasures. Yesterday I needed a ‘fix’ and went to my favorite thrift store and came home with a ceramic bird feeder and an afghan.
