I had to borrow a story for today because I really wanted to be part of the Inspirational party at Kelee’s Katillac Shack and I have missed all my Pink Saturday pals. I tried to come up with something inspirational from my own life (we all have something) but being absent minded (blame it on a recent change in age) I have to give you a raincheck.
Still, I want to offer you a brief story about man and how he came to be.
The Creative Powers were deciding how to populate their new creation and knew they would have man as a central figure. They wanted to give man some assistance so he was not always running to them for every little thing.

They came upon the idea of the cow, to add warmth to man’s home, milk for his children and meat for his meal. If needed it could even pull a plow.
Then the powers came up with the idea of dog, to keep man company, to chase away dangers, to show man the way home and be a loyal friend.
They said they would also give the dog twenty years of life.
Dog said, thank you, but ten will suffice.
Monkey was the next idea, to entertain man, keep life happy.
Monkey also said ten years was a long enough time for him to be required to amuse man.

Then the Creative Powers had to figure out how long man should live.
Man had an idea. “I will take all the years that cow, dog and monkey refused, and my twenty as well.” The powers agreed.
That is why for man’s first twenty years he eats, sleeps, plays and does as he pleases even when it accomplishes nothing,
and the last ten years barking at everybody.
