Pets come in all shapes and sizes.
What makes a pet is the joy and companionship an animal brings to one’s heart and how it enhances one’s life.

These are a few of the pets I have had the opportunity to share time with this past year.

Before we continue, let me urge you to write a blog post today to help shelter dogs.  By writing about your pets, or allowing your pet to take over your blog today and write a post of their own, you can link up with the Pet Blog Hop  and for your post there will be a donation of a 20 pound bag of food from Pedigree.  Go to the Pedigree Facebook Adoption Drive page and LIKE them.
For a more clear description of the details, please click here.

Thursday, September 16 through Sunday, September 19,  the Pedigree BlogPaws bloggers will host a Blog Hop, to help raise awareness for the “Write a post, help a dog” effort.

My cats and dogs have come from various rescue sources.
I have done transports and adoptathons and worked at the shelters cleaning cages and walking dogs and being with less fortunate animals in their final hours.

You have the opportunity TODAY to help make life a bit richer for dogs from the comfort of your own home.  Please help.

If you do not have a pet of your own, you may borrow one for use in writing a post for this event.  Spread the word, please.

To my Follow Friday friends, I promise to visit each and everyone of you very soon.

  3. Your blog title caught my eye as I was browsing through Follow Friday’s list of bloggers. I, too, am a fellow animal lover. I previously volunteered in our local shelter, and rescued many animals as well. I will get a post written by the end of the day for the feed an animal bloghop–and I can’t wait to read other posts there! What a great idea! I have 17 previous shelter cats, 2 shelter dogs, and a shelter rabbit. I’ll have to think about who is going to “write” the post. God bless you for your efforts 🙂

  6. Every animal needs to be taken care of no matter whether it’s a cow, donkey or dog. We have many, many critters here on the Ponderosa and yes, we are a cattle ranch. That means sooner or later they end up in our food chain but we are respectful of our land and animals. Sick animals are tended and nursed back to health, every one gets plenty of food and water. It hurts me so to see pets and other animals treated so badly. Thanks for the awareness shout out!

God bless and ya’ll have an incredible weekend!!!

  9. Thank you for visiting my site! I am so happy to see your blog. I will tell you that I have always been a dog person… cats are not for me. Until… this little meower showed up at the corner of our garage. Tiny, tiny. How he was alive was beyond me. Fed him canned food, sitting near by until he would let us touch him. Took him to the vet… slight issues. Was going to give up for adoption, but just couldn’t in the end.
Went home and that night a customer of mine called and said “Angie! I don’t know what to do! I just found this little kitten in the middle of the Hwy. I picked it up… what should I do?

I told her… take it to the vet tomorrow, and then bring it over.

Mr. Bill and Lafe have been best of friends since the minute they met. That was three months ago. They are thriving! I love these two, and our dogs just point and bark at them… so funny. We’re blending a new household.

Wow, didn’t mean to go off on that, but it is a small world, and after seeing your blog knew you’d understand!
Sweet dreams and be sure to stop and see me when you’re here,
    Angie

    • Oh you do know I understand. Growing up we were not allowed dogs so I was a cat lover from birth. As soon as I had my own place I had my own cat and added a St Bernard to the household. I have never looked back alone.

  11. Thanks so much for visiting our blog. We sure are glad to meet all of you. You have had as many pets as we do. And we sure are glad to meet someone that rescues animals. Our assistant has taken in a bunch of us here, 16 cats, 2 donkeys, 2 dogs, and 1 goat. She would like to take in more but the green papers are really scarce. She does have some wonderful friends that bring food for us. Hope all of you have a great day and we sure will be back to visit.
