Mom Cave Dreaming

Since hearing about the HomeGoods Mom Cave party at BNOTP I have been looking differently at my environment.

You may have seen my present blogging and web surfing corner of the world

that no matter how often I clear and clean ends up looking cluttered and disorganized within days.

Your comments and encouragement have helped me set my mind to clearing things away on a more permanent basis.

I am dreaming bigger and bolder about what I would want in a Mom Cave,  a special place of my own,  to share with friends and family on my own terms.

A corner of my world where I can express my own personality and display my personal collections

crushed plastic animal soft lights

without judgement or infringing upon the tastes of other household members.

I have eclectic taste and am too old to change that now.

I enjoy comfort and room to curl up.

Home Goods oversized chair

I want friends to feel welcome to visit.

As long as I am dreaming big there is one thing I would LOVE to include in my Mom Cave

and not one I have to share if I do not choose.

Since I am organizationally challenged a must in my Mom Cave would be varied, beautiful and
above all functional storage solutions.

Home Goods mini trunks

Home Goods Storage piece

Colorful Visible Storage

I would take advantage of wall space for other  attractive items too.

Home Goods Mirrored Candle Sconce

Home Goods Storage Pods

Other attractive items to furnish the corners.

Home Goods Accent Table

Home Goods Bottle Tree

Home Goods Storage Chest

To sum up, my Mom Cave would be a place I can relax, dream, be creative, be as messy as I want but have the resources to be organized; a place where I can read and listen to music and enjoy the company of invited loved ones.

Of course that would include a multimedia wireless computer system as well.

  3. L, I really seriously jeopardize my stuff collecting sobriety every time I visit your blog! I’m obsessing about a trip to Homegoods now, on line or physical, it would hardly matter.

  5. The picture of the cat in the basin is utterly adorable! What a cutie.

The whole in the wall in the ‘before’ picture of my Mom Cave was part of a cupboard built over the stairs by the previous owners that had been finished reeeeeeeeally badly!!

We’ve now changed that side of the room too. Would you like a peek? If you have a moment, then here’s the link.

  7. I feel for you, I really do. Some areas I have no trouble staying organized, but others I struggle with (like my desk!). Good luck.
