A New Year, A New Meme, Show Off Your Collections!

Filed under: Thrifty Finds — Laura R @ 8:18 AM

We all LOVE Mondays over at Apron Thrift Girl with her Thrift Share parties.  She makes other days of the week fun, educational and informational as well.  If you are the creative type she also hosts a Make Share day for you to link up.  And now (drumroll please) we can share our collections and increase traffic to our blogs and websites with

I hope to write clever stories to tell you about my collections and how they came to be, strange and interesting places where I found pieces to add to my collections,  thoughtful people who donated to my odd assortment of collectibles and more.

Today however I want to show you how collections can create themselves.

found innocently alone in a gutter

it attracted a small friend

Which reminds me – please tell two friends about this new party link up, and have each of them tell two friends…

and they called two friends

and it did not matter what size they were

I began finding them in grab bags

 or their color or theme

some came from pinatas

Without trying they seemed to find their way home with me.

even contained they call out for others

Even now I have others on my desk and in my van and waiting for creative ways to be displayed.  Any suggestions?

What do you collect?  I KNOW there are some snowmen collectors out there!  I would love to see.

Even some of my furry readers – you are collectors.  ‘Fess up and LINK up.

I am sitting here waiting!

Joining also with Pills’s Place   and Thrifty Thursday at Tales from Bloggeritaville.

Another great party to link up with is Cheap Thrills Thursday  at Black Cat designs, whether you bake or craft or decorate.

Since this is a promotion for great parties, follow me back to Suzy’s Commercial Break Thursday.  Words of Me Project has a linky up today  for you to share a post you write about other bloggers you follow.
Blogging with Amy has a linky up where you do NOT add your blog address, rather you link to someone who has had an IMPACT ON you.  It is very hard for me not to add each and every one of you.

Of course I only collect my FAVORITE THINGS. Share yours at Laurie’s.

If, like me, this is not Flea Market season for you, visit Flea Market Finds Sunday and enjoy seeing treasures others bring home.

  2. You know my son would jump with joy if he saw this. He adores bouncy balls. And I must admit that I do too. My favorites are currently those large clear ones that usually have glitter in them. They are amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful collection. I really enjoyed reading the history behind it. So sweet.

  3. Oh my gosh! I have never ever seen ones that look like pool balls (are they called pieces in pool?) who knows, but I love them. I love “what they think is not my problem” too.

  8. bouncy balls? now that is a real unusual collection, wait, maybe not, you do have lots of dogs & cats… but I do not see any chew marks? are you hoarding them for yourself?? I thought they were marbles at 1st! as of the moment my largest prized collection would be dust bunnies… wait…Nope it is definitely dust bunnies. they smother everything else in the house, so I can not remember what else I may have? ~happy hugs!

  11. gee, i feel kinda partial with those silly salad dryers of mine… a collection… well, it seems that way, because i really have to refrain from buying more, and i surely don’t know where the fascination comes from. but perhaps that’s its quality? i love your collection of balls though!

    Comment by woolf — January 9, 2011 @ 11:20 AM

  12. wow I’ve never seen ANYONE who collects bouncy balls–cool. I have some you can have 🙂 I don’t actually collect much so linking to Selena’s meme is hard for me
