Showing My Roots

I know I have not been blogging on a regular schedule and there does not seem to be a cohesive theme to my posts.  I have a wide variety of interests and wish I had enough hours in the day
to showcase them all.

Fortunately for me I recently discovered a couple of link parties that go together
and are bringing me back to where I live.

This was the view from my porch door the morning of day one of the Blizzard of 2011.
Isn’t it odd how you don’t notice some things in your own yard until you take a photo.

I will be sharing this post with

Barn Charm  linking up each Monday evening

and Farm Friend  party on Fridays.

I am also waiting for the return of the Barn Chicks parties when spring arrives.

Please leave links to your favorite farm or country parties in the comments.

I have just learned of a new Wednesday party – WOW Us Wednesday.

  1. Oh boy do I know the feeling! There just isn’t enough time to talk about all of them is there? Love the photo. Really pretty scene.

  2. Gorgeous! So pretty. I wish that it snowed here! But then, our winters are so mild, they are perfect. Lovely old buildigs. I assume that this is part of Barn Charm…I will have a squiz. ALthough in the country, most of the old farm buiidings around here have been eaten by white ants and replaced with corrogated iron sheds.Your shed looks very romatic sitting there in the snow.

  3. I miss getting snow; it never snows in Southern California. Thank you so much for linking up to my Furry First Fridays! I saw all the pups below – they are all adorable! Isn’t it great how they have such distinct personalities? I hope you are staying warm this winter. 🙂

  11. So beautiful. We just don’t have that kind of scenery here in So Cal. Looks very serene and romantic. I’m picturing cozying up to a nice fire and sipping a nice glass of wine. Lovely!

  14. It’s so true that a photo really does make you more aware of what’s in your yard! And I hear you about having too little time. 🙂

  15. Hey there – thanks for visiting my blog. I have been resting comfortably and actually am starting to feel pretty good. The first thing they did at the hospital was an EKG. It came back fine, but it was a concern of mine when I went there. I had no idea what was going on. I’ve never had pneumonia or pleurisy. All I knew was it hurt and I couldn’t breathe! Your farm looks lovely. I’m a little (lot) tired of the snow though.

  16. PS – I Don’t have a cohesive theme to my blogging either. It’s whatever rabbit trail I happen to be on at the time!

  17. I don’t have a theme either on my blog. Whatever strikes my fancy! You’ve certainly have lots of snow. I like that barn. It would go great on the CDR.

  18. A fine shot of the extreme snow in your back yard. It’s true how a picture gives us a different view than we tend to see with our eyes.
